Mukund Komanduri, MD, FAAOS, attended the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine in Miami, FL, and received his medical degree in 1989. Then, he served his internship, general surgery residency, and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center (1989-1994). In addition, Dr. Komanduri received board certification in orthopedic surgery from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. And, he remains at the forefront of his challenging specialty via memberships and affiliations with prestigious professional societies and associations. As a result, he is a member of the Will-Grundy County Medical Society and the American Medical Association. Moreover, he attained fellowship of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. In addition to his medical degree, he acquired a Summa Cum Laude BS degree at Biology and English from the University of Miami, Summa Cum Laude in 1985. Dr. Komanduri is the recipient of several awards, including the Howard Hatcher Research Award in Orthopaedic Surgery, the American Association of Trauma Research Award, the Smith and Nephew Richards Resident Research Award, and the Pandola-Lewis Award.
